316 Shadylake is the addition of a deployable/adaptable library into a suburban tract house. It must create a room where there is none. It must be both storage and display, both furniture and structure. It cannot physically modify the existing house yet it must read as a permanent installation. The inefficiencies are constructed through offsetting the measurement system of the boxes and support holes. This misalignment insures spaces for framed views and storage/display of personal items: pictures, vases, and art objects.
